I like to start a new project without having unfinished ones lurking in the sewing room. I do have a box marked “Roundtuit” which is where, for my sins, I park those projects that still need some finishing touches!
Some weeks ago I made the Nested Churn Dash block and it has been languishing whilst I finished off the “Scrappy Trip Round the World” quilt. Now that is done, I am in “quilting mode” so have made the sandwich of top, wadding and backing and finally got around to quilting this little quilt which is destined for the Special Baby Care Unit at Winchester Hospital. The maximum size of the quilts is to be 24” square. To comply with this I have omitted a binding. I folded in the edges of both the top and backing, trimmed the wadding and then machine top stitched all layers together – twice. I may have been a little over-enthusiastic with the quilting but never mind, a neat finish and one more project on the “Completed” pile.
